Pontypridd Regeneration Scheme’s contractor has raised more than £1,600 for Cystic Fibrosis thanks to the generous support of staff and fellow businesses.
Costain, the Rhondda Cynon Taf Council contractor to deliver the £10.5million regeneration project for Pontypridd Town Centre, made a special presentation to Cystic Fib rosis, their nominated charity.
The staff raised the sum at a Charity Ball in Miskin Manor which featured a raffle with top prize donated by local businesses and business associates.
The sum also included personal contributions from staff members with the full amount presented to Carolyn Holt of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust at Costain’s offices in Nant Garw.
Barry Woodman, Project Director for Costain said, ‘It was an excellent way to celebrate with our successful team and supply chain but it was made more special by giving something back to a very good and deserving cause.”
Carolyn Holt explained, “‘We have a long association with Costain and their staff and they have donated a considerable amount in recent years generally raised from running events, so the ball and raffle was a new way for them to raise money. But no matter how the money is raised, the donation is gratefully received and will be committed to an extremely good cause.”
The prizes donated by Tarmac, DKL Utilities, Capita Symonds, Walters UK, Atkins, Halcrow, RPS, Pontypridd Market Company, Conemasters, Bowplex, Frankie and Benny’s, Nando’s and Parker Plant included a flat screen TV, overnight hotel accommodation and a Kindle reading tablet. |
