Pontypridd Bus Station Changes

A series of significant changes are taking place in Pontypridd Bus Station later this month in an effort to reduce congestion at certain departure stands.

Following consultation with bus operators and passengers alike, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council will introduce the changes from March 29th 2010.

The alterations are taking place in order to reduce congestion that is occurring at certain departure stands during the day and also minimise the confusion that is caused to passengers if their service has to leave from a different departure stand than normal.

The Council’s Cabinet Member for Transport and Customer Care Cllr Andrew Morgan said: “Clearly there are congestion problems on the most popular departure stands at key times during the day and we will do all in our power to reduce this.

“It is the safety and comfort of the passengers that is foremost in our minds and hopefully by undertaking these alterations it will reduce the impact caused to travellers when their service has to move to another stand that has more room available, which has occurred frequently in recent times.

“An information leaflet giving more details is being published by the Council and will be available shortly.”
