| Big Welsh Bite Comes To Pontypridd |
|
Food, glorious food is on the menu at Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, Pontypridd, from Friday, July 30-Sunday, August 1, 2010, at the annual Big Welsh Bite. The popular food and agricultural festival showcases a huge range of Welsh produce to sample and buy, including ice creams, cheeses and cakes, and resident chefs cook up mouth-watering recipes during the weekend. There’s daily entertainment for all ages in the main arena, including duck driving and dance performances as well as craft stalls to browse around. One of the highlights of the weekend is the annual Mayor’s Harnessed Horse Parade on the Sunday from midday, with horse-drawn carriages travelling around Pontypridd and through the park. Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Head of Strategy, Christian Hanagan, said: “The Big Bite is one of the highlights of our annual events calendar and we once again look forward to welcoming thousands of visitors to the fantastic Ynysangharad Park.” Cabinet Member for Community Engagement and Council Business, Cllr Maureen Webber, said: “This is an excellent event for people to come along to and enjoy themselves and is a good example of what we have to offer the community as a Council.” For more information on forthcoming events in Rhondda Cynon Taf, go to www.whatsonrct.co.uk or call the Events team on 01443 425700 For Tourism information go to www.destinationrct.co.uk |
