Taff Street: Temporary Road Closure - Taff Street and High Street, 08.00hrs to 17.00hrs Sunday 13th November 2011 The resurfacing of certain stretches of road and work areas prior to the Christmas work embargo will require a temporary road closure that will prevent traffic exiting the town centre via High Street. In consequence and to support the safe movement of traffic through the town Taff Street and High Street will be temporarily closed. The closure point will be outside Game Station in Taff Street and through traffic will be diverted via Market Street and Church Street. The closure has been scheduled to avoid undue disruption during the working week and all business premises in the general vicinity of the closure will be consulted with contingency arrangements in place to support deliveries and access by the emergency services. The closure will not prevent pedestrian access to the shops and business premises in the vicinity of the closure. In addition, advanced signage and a traffic management operative will be present to help manage the temporary closure. If you have any enquiries or concerns about the work please contact Brian Greaves on the project helpline 0845 600 2664 or 01443 842657. Temporary traffic regulation order - Sunday closures: The Pontypridd town centre regeneration team are seeking a temporary traffic regulation order for some road closures in the town centre on Sundays commencing in September. The closures are necessary to facilitate the full width preparation and surfacing of sections of the town between 6am Sunday - 6am Monday. Advance notice will be given and diversions where possible will be well publicised. The traffic management arrangements have been instigated to support safe working conditions and public access in the town centre and all business premises remain open and accessible for business - So it’s BUSINESS AS USUAL IN PONTYPRIDD.
