It’s all change at Pontypridd as a £75 million masterplan is well underway to regenerate the popular market town.

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is spearheading the transformation of the town centre street scene with a £10.5million funding boost from the Welsh Government and European Regional Development Fund. Taff Street, High Street, Market Street, Church Street, Penuel Lane and Mill Street are all undergoing exciting remodelling. The regeneraton package also supports grants to private sector property owners to carry our high quality improvements to the internal and external parts of their business premises.

With the demolition of the Taff Vale Precinct, work will shortly commence on a new shopping venue for the town centre. At the Brown Lenox site, supermarket giants Sainsbury's are progressing their multi-million pound scheme to open a new store in 2012. Major regeneration work is also continuing at the town's busy train station.

Together, Pontypridd is benefiting from its greatest investment programme in generations.
