Free Festive Parking!

A special festive treat for shoppers in Rhondda Cynon Taf as the Council announces FREE Christmas parking in all Council owned Pay & Display town centre car parks.

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is taking the hassle out of Christmas shopping by making all car parks FREE after 10am from 19th December until 24th December.

All vehicles must display a valid parking ticket until 10am and disabled people can continue to park free at all times in designated disabled bays when they display their 'blue badge'.

So for all the festive fun and seasonal shopping, Rhondda Cynon Taf’s bustling town centres have got Christmas shopping all wrapped up.

The town centres are home to amazing and unique shops that offer visitors the opportunity to find a special gift for all the family. Forget your big shopping centres; Rhondda Cynon Taf has got all you need for that special Christmas gift – from handmade candles to cakes.

As you stroll along the streets its clear to see why so many shoppers head to the eight town centres every year.

After all that shopping, why not relax in the various restaurants and cafes that the towns have to offer.

If that’s not enough to help you find that perfect present, many of the towns boast traditional indoor and weekly outdoor markets that offer a wealth of stalls, selling a wide range of unusual items.

Cllr Paul Cannon, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Safer Communities, said: “We hope many residents and visitors will take this opportunity to park for free and enjoy shopping in our town centres this Christmas.

“The Council understands how important Christmas trade is to local businesses and as such has removed the parking charges to help increase trade in to the towns in the hope that shoppers will see how great the towns are and return in the New Year.
