Pontypridd Railway Station is about to undergo a major overhaul thanks to a massive investment programme which is currently underway.

More than £6million of enhancements will be forthcoming over the next few years, following investment from Network Rail and the Welsh Assembly Government.

The Grade II Listed canopy of the station will be subject to complete repair and refurbishment, ensuring the historic appearance of the train station is maintained.

Further improvements will also be made through reinstatement of the third platform at the station, which will increase the capacity for trains on Valleys Lines.
